OUR STORY
The Louisiana Steampunks was established in 2012 as a means for the numerous groups across the states of Louisiana and Mississippi to communicate, and work to establish events and activities across the area for steampunks to enjoy and participate in. Since it establishment after the Louisianime of 2012 it has continued to grow and expand it purposes.
It does not only function as a communication and promotion hub, but sponsors events, charities, state wide challenges, and supports its own scholarship. The LASP hopes to soon host how to videos, persona development activities, as well as sponsor its own Steampunk Event within the next three years.
The LASP is an open group that accepts members from all over the two state region we are currently working with and openly support and work with other local regional steampunk groups and societies to promote the message of tolerance, acceptance, and support for any and all stampunks.

Our Mission

The LASP is first and foremost an open forum for steampunks in the Louisiana and Mississippi areas and therefore supports open, respect dicussions on any issues. The LASP supports different visions on the steampunk genre and level of involvement. If you want to walk in polished brass and period clothing all day sipping tea or make your outfit from old clothes, ducktape and spray paint for one or two conventions, that is perfectly fine. Participate and take it to whatever level you are happy with. The "punk" in steampunk means do it your way, with your flair. To honor that the LASP supports and accepts any styles or person who want to expand and support the steampunk community.
